Introduction
Independent Rail Retailers is a membership and lobbying body representing almost all the retailers who are licensed by Rail Delivery Group (RDG) to sell train tickets for the National Rail network. You can find out who our members are on the who we are page.
We help to sell - either directly or indirectly - over £4bn of train tickets each year, out of a total industry ticket sales of just over £10bn (in pre-Covid figures).
We are the lowest-cost - and the only zero-risk - way of selling tickets for Britain’s railways.
We deliver innovation, including the adoption of (and payment for!) barcode ticketing across almost all of the network.
And we are helping to drive the rail revenue recovery, by investing in technology, marketing and people skills, and by working in partnership with train operators, Rail Delivery Group and the GBR transition team to create a new and better rail industry, and by winning new customers to rail.
